Practicing What I Preach

I’ve talked a lot lately about being better for the environment, be it here on the blog or in sharing the news articles that break my heart. I know that change starts with myself, and I know that ultimately I had been lazy. So I’ve recommitted myself to really practicing what I preach, starting with bringing my reusables everywhere! I’ve been way better recently about remembering my reusable cup when I go out for a coffee, and my utensil set has become an everyday staple in my bag again.

As you read this I am making my way across the pond for a week long adventure, and while I am packing in only my backpack and tote bag I have made sure to leave room for the following:

  • Hydro Flask with straw lid: Duh, I don’t go anywhere without it.

  • My bamboo utensil set: so that I am ready to go for airport meals or take out food.

  • Yeti tumbler: I’ve got to keep up my routine of bringing my own coffee cup even on the road.

  • A reusable shopping bag: This one that I recently picked up at H&M is on the larger end, but is also super light weight so it packs down nice and small. It is going to be perfect to keep in my bag to use for any sort of shopping I may encounter. Oh and it was only like $3, what a steal.

A handful of things that made their way into my backpack, sure can make me feel just a little bit better. These things also help remind me to be a little bit more conscious of other decisions I am making throughout my day.
