Letter To Lake Michigan

I made my way to the Lake for sunrise yesterday. It had been a while and I’m so glad that I did. It was a beautiful mid week pick me up. As always, the Lake brought me a large dose of inspiration and creativity. Here’s a few words I strung together.

As I sat at her shoreline while the sun rose, I took my first real look at the newly jagged drop offs, the results of Lake Michigan’s rising tides and powerful waves beating the shores. These newly reimagined coastlines, where small quiet beaches once were are a reminder that her beauty is in her power.

She moves and changes as she pleases.

She rises and falls.

She rages angry and sits calmly.

She allows us into her world, lets us soak up the magic that’s in her waters while also reminding us that she works with Mother Nature to demand respect.
