From My Travel Journals: Beautiful Things

Today I am sharing a simple little list that I jotted into my journal while in the Florida Keys for Thanksgiving. It’s just a list of some of the vacation things that I found incredibly beautiful.

Nov. 26th 2019- Beautiful Things From The Last Few Days:

-The way the sun sparkles on the ocean on a cloudless day

-Big, pink jellies floating just beneath the waters surface.

-The oceans many shades of blue depicting the depths below.

-A curious manatee poking it’s muzzle above the surface for air right near our boat.

-Laying on a boat, in the sunshine, gently rocking while surrounded by blue.

-The little splashes of water tickling your toes as they dangle off the side of a moving boat.

-When the ocean is that pastel blue color I love with a pastel painted, rainbow sky and the silhouette of a palm tree in the distance.

-Quiet mornings on the beach, only me and a book around.

-A cloudless, starry sky. More stars appearing each minute as your eyes begin to adjust.

-The strange sense of awe, contentment and wonder that can only be felt when surrounded by salty blue water on all sides.

-A day spent barefoot on a beach.

Beautiful Things

It’s so easy to find beautiful things in a new place, a foreign place, or a place that you only visit on occasion. It’s more difficult do acknowledge the beautiful things within our daily lives. It can sometimes be harder to find beauty in the mundane occurrences of the familiar. I challenge you to take a moment today, among the hustle and bustle of your everyday life and recognize some of the beauty you are surrounded by. Maybe it’s the fact that the sun is shining and the sky is blue despite below freezing temperature or that first sip of coffee in the morning. Maybe it’s the way that your favorite pen writes or the bit of quiet in the house before your family wakes up. It could be the sound of your best friends laugh or the way your pup gets so excited to see you when you get home.

The smallest things can become beautiful when we decided to slow down and recognize it.

If you feel compelled to share your list, jot it down on the template below and give it a share on your story! Who knows maybe you will brighten someones day or inspire them to take a moment to soak in the beauty that is in their life.
