April Goals

April Goals. Polaroid edit. PicsArt Edit.

I found myself feeling a lack of purpose over the last week, not surprising since my schedule is almost completely empty, but just because I’m confined to home doesn’t mean I can’t have something to strive for! I’ve decided I’m going to work at making a schedule for myself, even if it’s just filled with hobbies and small things, and set some goals for the month. The plan is to have a little list of things to do each day that help get me out of my bed and lower my screen time (because it is embarrassingly high.) Now don’t get me wrong, I very much agree with the messages going around social media that are reminding everyone that with this excess of time it’s okay if you aren’t being exceptionally productive and aren’t writing the next bet seller or changing the world. While I agree, I also know that for my own mental sanity, I need to get myself up and do something, anything! So here’s to April and learning new things, keeping sane and still setting and reaching goals!

Read daily

I have been slacking in the reading department this year. Somehow it’s April and I have yet to finish a single book. Now feels like the perfect time to change that. This month, I am planning to read daily even if just a chapter. (Looking for your own book to read during this time? Here’s a list of the books I loved in 2019!)

Learn a song on the guitar

I have always wanted to learn to play guitar. In the past, I’ve had a few sad attempts at teaching myself that didn’t last long. I’ve got plenty of time right now to sit down and devote to learning to play so this month the goal is to learn to play a complete song! I’m starting with “Breakdown” by Jack Johnson!

Run 30 miles

Movement and exercise are key in keeping my mental sanity. I am super thankful for a pretty fully stocked basement gym complete with treadmill! During the back half of March I ran just shy of 15 miles so I figured 30 miles would be an attainable goal for the month!

Be more consistent again here on the blog

Admittedly this feels a little funny right now, like I’m not sure what to post. One thing I do know is that I want to keep my little corner of the internet a place that is positive, beachy, uplifting place. So stay tuned!

More FaceTime dates

I love love love my people, so the more I can incorporate them into my day the better. April will be all about impromptu mid day facetimes, zoom game nights and grabbing a drink together online.
