With summer creeping to a close, I have made the mental note to soak up as much time in the water as possible before the warm weather and warm(ish) water slip away for the year.
Sometimes that means hoping in the water on a cool, cloudy sunday morning before work. Even with no waves, paddling out onto the lake on my surfboard can boost my day. Just paddling around and then sitting in the middle of the water is so calming, it's really one of the only places that my mind is quite and calm while I am alone with my thoughts.
Sometimes it's hard amongst busy schedules to remember to do something for yourself, to do something that makes your day better, even if it's just the tinniest bit. The days I do remember to do something good, like getting in the water or reading a book on the beach, are alway days I feel just a little bit better.
And some days, that little thing may be grabbing my sister and having a mini photo shoot after getting out of the water.
Because can you ever have to many pictures of yourself with a surfboard?
